Makers of Pushpa 2 have announced the release date of the Allu Arjun starrer, creating a wave of excitement among fans. However, one question that had been constantly hanging was who would take over the charge of delivering a record-breaking dance number. In the first installment of the film, Samantha Prabhu showcased her dancing prowess and gave music and dance aficionados a hit like ‘Oo Anta’. Reports claimed that after much deliberation, popular Telugu actor Sreeleela has been roped in for a song in the second installment. Along with her, Samantha is also expected to make a comeback in the film.

Now, a source close to the production confirms the news to us and shares that both actors have been signed for the special song and everything is set for the shoot. “Looking at Sreeleela’s dancing skills, the makers have signed her for the song. She will start shooting in Hyderabad, either today or tomorrow. As known to everyone, she will be joined by Samantha; however, the latter might only appear for a few seconds in the song. The makers are very cautious about not revealing any more details about the special dance number.”

Before Shreeleela signed this song, several other names were considered by the makers. Earlier, it was reported that Tripti Dimri had auditioned for the same role, but the makers did not find her apt for the part. Later, Shraddha Kapoor came into the picture, but her high remuneration demands led the makers to drop the idea. Other names, including Janhvi Kapoor, were also considered before finalising Sreeleela.

Who is Sreeleela?

Sreeleela is an American actor of Indian origin who has done considerable work in the Telugu and Kannada film industries. Besides acting, Sreeleela is highly interested in dance and began her Bharatanatyam training at a very young age. She made her film debut with the Kannada project Kiss and won several awards for it. While her acting skills are appreciated across the country, it’s her dance that catches the most attention. She has delivered hit songs such as Kurchi Madathapetti with South superstar Mahesh Babu and Gandarabai with Ram Pothineni.

Pushpa 2 is expected to release n December 5, a day ahead of its previously scheduled date.
