The film was also considered as India’s official entry to Oscars 2025. However, The Film Federation of India unanimously voted for Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies, pushing it a step forward in the Oscar race.

Kalki 2898 was made on a whopping budget of 600 crores and performed decently well at the box office. It was later released on OTT platform Netflix, where it found its audience from across the globe.
