Pooja Hegde, known for her stellar performances in Telugu and Hindi films, has carved a niche for herself in the Indian film industry. In an exclusive conversation during Manthan 2025, hosted by News24, Pooja Hegde opens up about her first interaction with Shahid Kapoor on the sets of Deva. She reveals that their first meeting was during a mock shoot, and she was pleasantly surprised by how warm and welcoming Shahid was. “We connected instantly, and it didn’t take long for us to gel well. Interestingly, we met just a day before my birthday, and there everything was planned – right from the cake to the celebration. We ended up cutting the cake on set, which made the moment even more special,” she recalled. She further expresses her excitement about working with him, calling the experience ‘incredibly fun and fulfilling.’

Challenges Of Transitioning From Telugu To Hindi Cinema

Reflecting on her journey from Telugu films to Bollywood, Pooja admits that adapting to a new industry came with its own set of challenges. She particularly recalls her experience while working on Mohenjo Daro, where she had to match the energy and screen presence of Hrithik Roshan under the direction of Ashutosh Gowariker. “The film had a vast world, and Hrithik and Ashutosh sir had already built a strong creative synergy. My biggest challenge was to stay true to my character without looking lost amidst the grand storytelling. It was essential to keep up with their pace while maintaining my originality,” she shared.
