Aazam: Bollywood actor Jimmy Shergill’s upcoming crime thriller film Aazam is ready to impress the audience in the theatres on May 19, 2023. The film is directed by Shravan Tiwari, it also stars Abhimanyu Singh and Indraneil Sengupta in the lead role.
In an exclusive conversation with news24online.com, Jimmy Shergill talked about his role in his upcoming movie Aazam.

Q1. Currently, Aazam is the talk of the town, so can you brief us about the role you are playing it?
A1. “So basically Azaam is a film that is releasing on the 19th of May. It is a story of one night in Mumbai when a whole lot of incidents start happening in Mumbai city and which kind of shake the underworld and the police and the politicians, everybody…..what is happening…..who is doing……how is it getting done….so it is a story of one night, race against time, a very unique presentation, a very unique screenplay. And if you are liking the trailer, if you feel like you want to go and watch this film, I promise you that this film is a thousand times better than the trailer.”
Q2. Sir, if your previous movies we can see Jimmy Shergill playing the lovey-dovey character most of the time, as Aazam gave a strong character….how difficult it was or what challenges you came across while portraying the role.
A2. “This is nowhere close to lovey-dovey. I think this is a film in which there are multiple characters, some have shorter lengths and some have longer lengths. But that doesn’t mean that it is not powerful. A short two-scene film is doing something amazing. And it is a story that before dawn everything has to end, and you are still in that race. Yes. So it is that kind of story. I think, since it is a suspense film, we should keep it a little suspense.”

Q3. When Shravan Tiwari asked you to shoot for the 40 nights but you refused to do so, what made you agree later?
A3. “I am not very fond shooting at night, but It happened by mistake…maybe it was written in my destiny… I read his script and I liked it so much that I signed for 80 nights not for 40 nights, But I will do it.”
Q4. Earlier, In an interview you said that you found the script and its screenplay soo attractive that you agreed to portray the small roles also.
A4. ”When I was told that this is the same film for which you had said no, then I said if after so much time that role has been given to someone else also then give me the small role. I want to be a part of this film because this story is very interesting.”
Q5. How would you describe your journey of 25 years from Matchbox to Azam in 2 lines?
A5. ‘If you have talked about the journey of 25 years, then it will be, “I am Alive”.’
