Samantha Ruth Prabhu surprised fans on December 1 when she married filmmaker Raj Nidimoru in a traditional Linga Bhairavi Vivaha ceremony at the Isha Foundation in Coimbatore. Her bridal look quickly went viral, she wore a red silk Banaras saree with beautiful jewellery and perfect styling. But what caught most people’s attention was her vintage style diamond wedding ring, a rare handmade piece with a very interesting story behind it.

According to A2Z, the piece was crafted by Athens based jeweller Theodoros Savopoulos, a designer who deliberately stays out of the spotlight. He creates only a few pieces each year and works only for very select clients. His jewellery is known for focusing on the beauty of the gemstones, creative designs, and a modern, unique style.

According to Hindustan Times, the portrait-cut diamond is not just beautiful it has a long history. It first originated in ancient India and became popular during the Mughal era, especially under Emperor Shah Jahan.
As reported by Only Natural Diamonds, thin, transparent diamonds were once placed over miniature paintings to protect and enhance the artwork, which is how the cut earned its name. Today, the portrait cut is prized for its clarity, subtlety, and old world charm.

After weeks of buzzing speculation, Samantha and Raj have finally confirmed what fans had been guessing the two are now officially married. Samantha shared the news on Instagram on Monday, posting intimate moments from their beautiful ceremony with the caption “01.12.2025” and white heart emojis.
Samantha and Raj first worked together on The Family Man 2 in 2021, which was her first OTT project. They later teamed up for Citadel: Honey Bunny in 2024 and will appear together in the upcoming Netflix series Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom.
Raj Nidimoru, who is one half of the filmmaker duo Raj & DK, was earlier married to Shhyamali De. They reportedly got divorced in 2022, while Samantha had a public divorce from Naga Chaitanya in 2021.
