People all across the world have long been drawn to Indian culture and dance. Ethnique, an American dance company, has earned success in the prestigious international dance competition World of Dance by displaying Indian dance. The judges chose them as one of the top three teams and awarded them the trophy. The Ethnique team finished third and qualified to represent the United States in the World of Dance final.
Erem Khan, the lead choreographer of the ethnique team, who is from Mumbai and has worked with many artists in the film industry, is overjoyed and pleased about this win. Her dance team is representing the United States in the World Series.
World of Dance began in 2008 in California, USA, and has grown to become the largest international level dance competition in the last 15 years. World of Dance competitions are hosted in around 25 countries throughout the world. The greatest dancers from those 25 countries are chosen, and they all travel to California to compete for the title of champion. This competition has five judges, all of them are Hollywood and film industry experts, including well-known choreographers. This competition’s judges have also worked with Jennifer Lopez. Among the judges are major Hollywood influences and choreographers.
The competition was held in the city of Houston, Texas, where the ethnique team is based in Dallas. The crew then traveled four hours to Houston to win the tournament. The ethnique team has gained straight entry to the World of Dance finals as a result of this victory. While the youngest dancer on this squad was a 6-year-old girl, there was also a 36-year-old mother who excelled with her performance.
It is a source of immense delight and pride for India and every Indian that a dance company lead by an Indian choreographer is representing America and has been chosen for the World of Dance finale. The team has already begun planning and rehearsing for the finale. The finals will be place in Los Angeles from July 28th to August 1st, 2024.
It is worth noting that the ethnique team’s lead choreographer, Erem Khan, has worked with several celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Aishwarya Rai, and Deepika Padukone. She has now been in America for a long time and is busy teaching the children there anything she has learned in India. She wishes to promote Indian culture and dance in the United States.
