English Vinglish: Sridevi’s iconic film to release in China on her 5th death anniversary

New Delhi: English Vinglish, Sridevi’s classic 2012 film, has gained a new audience. Gauri Shinde’s film will be released in China on February 24. The date is notable since it commemorates the fifth anniversary of Sridevi’s death. The Hindi film, directed by Gauri Shinde, will be played in 6,000 Chinese mainland theatres. It garnered a five-minute standing ovation from the crowd at its world premiere at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival.

Sridevi’s English Vinglish to release in China

English Vinglish, which starred the late Sridevi in the lead role, was a commercial and critical triumph. The film, which celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2022, accomplished a new feat. The film, which also stars Adil Hussain, Sumeet Vyas, Priya Anand, Sulabha Deshpande, and French actor Mehdi Nebbou, is now available in Chinese theatres.

Taran Adarsh, a film critic and trade expert, announced the news on Twitter. He also stated that the film will be released in theatres on February 24, the fifth anniversary of Sridevi’s death.
