Police reported that two men who have been charged with firing at Bollywood actress Disha Patani’s home in Bareilly were captured during a police encounter in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Both accused died during treatment. Both suspects are linked to a prominent transnational criminal gang. They have links to a well-known transnational criminal gang and were wounded during the encounter.
This case is in connection with the shooting incident that occurred in the early hours of September 12th, when shots were fired at Ms Patani’s childhood home in Bareilly’s Civil Lines. Police commented that the gunfire imploded off in the Civil Lines neighbourhood around 3:45 a.m., providing terror to the once-quiet residential area.
The actor’s family occupies the residence. At the time of the shoot were Ms Patani’s father, retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Jagdish Singh Patani, her mother, and sister Khushboo Patani.
Gang Takes Responsibility
Just after the incident, gangster Goldy Brar – a criminal based in Canada with expansive ties to organized networks – took credit for the hit through a social media post. Subsequently, screenshots of his post circulated on social media, where he claimed that the shooting was a reaction to comments allegedly made by Ms Patani and her sister about two religious persons: Sant Premanand Maharaj and Aniruddhacharya.
The Assault
A coordinated operation involving the Noida unit of the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) and the Crime Intelligence (CI) Unit of Delhi Police resulted in a confrontation in Ghaziabad on Thursday. According to police, the suspects fired upon the approaching team, and while there was an exchange of fire, both suspects sustained serious injuries, after being forced out of hiding and disarmed. The suspects were immediately transferred to a nearby hospital for treatment under police custody. The suspects were identified as Ravindra from Rohtak, and Arun from Sonipat. From the scene, the authorities confiscated weapons, including a Glock pistol, a Zigana pistol and multiple live cartridges.
