Monsoon season has brought a rise in COVID-19 and dengue cases in Maharashtra and Emraan Hashmi has come down with dengue. According to reports, the actor became sick while filming his Telugu film OG which starred Pawan Kalyan as the lead.
Hindustan Times and Bollywood Hungama report that the medical consultation confirmed the diagnosis. According to a person close to the production, Emraan started to look unwell while filming and was quickly advised to get checked by a doctor, Times Now quoted the insider, “Emraan Hashmi was shooting in Aarey Colony, Goregaon—an area known for its dense vegetation and high mosquito population. He began experiencing symptoms consistent with dengue and, upon medical consultation, was advised to undergo tests. The results unfortunately, confirmed the diagnosis.” Once his results were positive, he told the producers and stopped taking part in the filming.

The source added that despite the illness, Hashmi handled the situation with grace, regretting the disruption to the schedule, "The moment he got the confirmation, Emraan informed the film’s producers and expressed his inability to continue shooting for the time being. He deeply regretted the disruption in the schedule, but the team was extremely supportive. They reassured him that his health was the top priority and advised him to take complete rest.”

The source told the publication, “Emraan Hashmi is resting at home. There’s no clarity yet, but he’ll probably be out of action for a week. Once he recuperates, he’ll resume shooting for OG."
The film stars Pawan Kalyan and marks Emraan Hashmi’s first Telugu movie. Directed by Sujeeth, it also features Priyanka Mohan and Arjun Das in important roles. The story is about a feared gangster named Ojas Gambheera, also known as 'OG', who comes back to Mumbai after ten years to take down another crime boss, Omi Bhau. The music is composed by Thaman S. The movie is set to release on September 25.
