Mumbai. John Abraham-Arjun Kapoor starrer “Ek Villain Returns” directed by Mohit Suri received a lukewarm response at the box office on day 1. The film showed a slight growth on Saturday (Day 2). The film had collected Rs 7.05 cr on Friday and raked in Rs 7.47 cr more on Saturday. Being the massy film, the film is further expected to grow on Sunday.
Sharing Day 2 figures of the film, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “#EkVillainReturns collects in similar range on Day 2… Marginal increase at national chains, but down in mass pockets… All eyes on Day 3… Fri 7.05 cr, Sat 7.47 cr. Total: ₹ 14.52 cr. #India biz.

“The film has performed best in UP, Gujarat, Bihar and Nizam / Andhra but there were mass circuirs like Rajasthan and CI which could have got better numbers and it is actually surprising to see numbers here on the lower side considering other mass pockets fared well,” a box office India report said.
On Day 1, Ek Villain Returns managed to pull the audience to the theaters. Film analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#EkVillainReturns reaps the benefit of franchise factor, opens better at single screens of mass pockets and Tier-2 centres… Metros – especially national chains – need to gather momentum… Day 2 and 3 crucial… Fri ₹ 7.05 cr. #India biz.”
Ek Villain Returns, which was directed by Mohit Suri, has so far made 14.55 crores* and is expected to surpass 23 crores today. The closer it gets to 25 crores, the better, since that would nearly guarantee that the suspense thriller will exceed the 50 crores mark in its lifespan.
