Kapil Sharma is one of India’s most popular comedians. He also had his own comedy show on Colors Tv named ‘Comedy Nights With Kapil’. After five years, due to some reasons the show shifted to Sony Entertainment Television and renamed as ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’.
Currently, his latest comedy series, ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’ is streaming on Netflix and has already completed two seasons.
Kapil Sharma Show Resembles Pakistani Show?
Pakistani comedian and TV actor Shakeel Siddiqui recently suggested that Kapil’s show may have been inspired by his old Pakistani comedy show ‘Banno Tere Abba Ki Oonchi Haveli’. In a candid interview with YouTuber Nadir Ali, Shakeel said, “The concept of my show was very similar to Kapil Sharma’s show. I am not claiming he has stolen my idea, but the similarities are there. Still, Kapil is a great artist who respects me a lot.”
Previous Claims From Pakistani Comedians
Shakeel Siddiqui and Kapil Sharma have both been part of comedy shows like Ustaadon Ka Ustaad and Comedy Circus. Interestingly, this isn’t the first time such claims have been made. Another Pakistani comedian, Tabish Hashmi, had also alleged that Kapil Sharma’s show drew concepts from legendary Pakistani comedians Umar Sharif and Amanullah.
What Tabish Hashmi Said
In a conversation with Geo.tv, Tabish stated, “Our show’s set depicts Lahore, and Kapil’s show depicts Delhi — both cities are very similar. This concept belongs to Umar Sharif and Amanullah; it’s ours. Kapil has only spent crores to package and present it as his own idea.”
However, Kapil Sharma has not addressed these claims till now, fans might be waiting to hear his reponse on this too.
