Duranga, which was released on Friday, follows Ira (Drashti Dhami) and her husband Summit, just like the original (Gulshan Devaiah). Summit chooses a simpler life as an artist and a stay-at-home husband, while Ira is an ace officer in a Mumbai Police branch. The show repeatedly reminds us that Summit is someone who doesn’t feel emotions but is working hard to change his personality.

The show, like the Flower of Evil, is full of surprises. For those who haven’t seen the show before, the ZEE5 series brings something new to the table. The longest advantage of the series is its length. Unlike the original, which takes time to brew and spends over an hour per episode, Duranga gets right to the point and keeps each episode to 30 minutes or less. It’s a welcome change for the series, and it hooks viewers almost immediately.
