Malayalam stars Dulquer Salmaan and Prithviraj Sukumaran were among several people whose homes were raided on Tuesday as part of Operation “Numkhor.” The investigation is being conducted by the Customs Preventive Wing. The operation spanned several parts of Kerala and aims to curb the illegal import of vehicles from Bhutan.
According to PTI, officials are investigating vehicles that were imported from Bhutan using false registrations to evade taxes. Officials confirmed that the documents of vehicles registered in Dulquer and Prithviraj’s names are currently under scrutiny.
What is Operation Numkhor?
The operation, named after the Bhutanese word “Numkhor”, meaning vehicle, covers areas such as Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode, and Malappuram. Sources reported around 15 violations so far. Additionally, the department is investigating vehicles linked to actor Amit Chakkalackal. Authorities suspect that over 100 vehicles, including Land Rovers, Land Cruisers, and Prados, were smuggled into Kerala and purchased by prominent Malayalam actors.
Dulquer Salmaan and Prithviraj have not yet publicly commented on the matter.

Despite the controversies, both have had a successful professional year. Prithviraj starred in and directed L2 Empuraan, a sequel to the 2019 blockbuster “Lucifer,” which grossed Rs 265 crore worldwide. Dulquer Salmaan produced “Lokaah: Chapter 1 – Chandra,” starring Kalyani Priyadarshan and Nasleen. The film has grossed Rs 275 crore globally and has been performing well in theaters since its release on August 28.
