New Delhi: Last month, the release of “Dream Girl 2,” featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday, saw a strong opening at the domestic box office. However, with the release of “Jawan” on Thursday, the film’s box office performance seems to have declined significantly.
“Dream Girl 2” experienced a substantial drop in collections on its 14th day, with early estimates suggesting it earned approximately ₹1 crore net in India, claimed media reports. In contrast, “Jawan” earned an estimated ₹75 crore on the same day.
The reports also indicated that after a business of around ₹2.7 crore on Wednesday, “Dream Girl 2” saw its earnings drop to less than half. As per early estimates, the film has accumulated a total of ₹95.69 crore net in India.
“Dream Girl 2” had a strong opening day collection of ₹10.69 crore nett in India on August 25. The film’s first-week collection amounted to ₹67 crore. Earlier in the week, “Dream Girl 2” had crossed the ₹100 crore mark in worldwide gross collection.
