Dostana 2 Gets A Fresh Face! Kartik Aaryan’s THIS Co-Star May Join The Cast

According to recent reports, Dharma Productions is reviving "Dostana 2" with significant cast changes. Kartik Aaryan's upcoming co-star may replace Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead.

The long shelved Dostana 2 is reportedly getting a fresh cast and a different director. According to recent reports from News18 , Dharma Productions is looking to revive the film with significant casting changes. South Indian star Sreeleela, who is currently shooting with Kartik Aaryan in Anurag Basu’s upcoming romantic drama, is being considered to replace Janhvi Kapoor as the female lead.

A source close to the project shared, “The makers of Dostana 2 decided to recast the film, hoping to feature a set of actors who haven’t shared screen space in the past. It will indeed be interesting to see her chemistry with her co-stars.”

Earlier Mid-day reported, that the male leads are also reportedly being switched. While Lakshya will continue to be a part of the cast as originally planned, Vikrant Massey is now said to replace Kartik Aaryan.

Earlier the film was supposed to be directed by Collin D’Cunha, but now Laal Singh Chaddha director Advait Chandan is reportedly taking over. The film is expected to go on floors in late 2025 or early 2026.

Meanwhile, on the work front Kartik Aaryan is currently working on Naagzilla and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri under Dharma’s banner. He is also collaborating with Sreeleela in Anurag Basu’s untitled romantic film, which is scheduled for Diwali 2025 release. That film will clash at the box office with Thama, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna.
