Diljit Dosanjh Concert Delhi: Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati India Tour kick-started in Delhi on October 26 followed by another show on October 27. After a long battle for tickets, thousands of people went to Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium to see the international icon creating magic on stage. While many loved the vibe and Diljit’s performance, several of them were left disappointed. They later took to their social media handles to share the details of the mismanagement and called them out for “cheating and duping so many people during the concert!”
Concert Delayed!
Several people shared their bad experiences of standing outside the gate, waiting for the concert to start for hours. One of them named Siddharth, who attended the event on Day 1, wrote on X, “Even after paying so much, we were left waiting endlessly. The gates didn’t open till 5:30 PM, and then the concert didn’t start until 8 PM. From 5 to 7 PM, it was just random Zomato & Kingfisher ads with no opening act. Why even make us wait for hours if nothing’s happening? So, if you’re going, don’t bother arriving early — there’s no advantage.”
Another fan, who went for the Dil-Luminati concert on Day 2, shared, “The show was supposed to start at 7 pm, with entries starting as early as 5.30 pm. The concert actually started at 7.40 pm and was closed on time at 10. With a 20-25 minute intermission. Why the hell would you print 7 pm on the tickets if you can’t start on time?
No Benefits Despite The Gold Ticket
Fans further shared how despite purchasing Gold tickets for Sunday’s concert for double the price, they did not enjoy the perks of it. “There was NO WAY for all Gold Ticker holders to get a clear view of Diljit. You can’t have FCFS for a ticket costing 12k,” wrote one fan. Another also agreed and shared how “only Fan Pit had a good view” of Diljit. All the others were only struggling to get a clear glimpse of him.
Mismanagement In Food Section
Fans shared pictures from the venue to share how chaotic the scene was. “With only 2 counters for a massive crowd, it was ABSOLUTE CHAOS,” wrote one person, who attended the event. Giving more details, he wrote about standing in the line just to buy the card, get it recharged in order to buy drinks. Later, “A fight broke out between the management and the crowd, leading to the beverage counters being shut down. There were no drinks or even water available after 9 PM,” shared the fans.
Others who attended the event mentioned how there were no separate queues for women. “It meant that they had to jostle to get things,” wrote a fan,. adding, “UPI/cards were not working as the network was jammed. Oh yeah, and the toilets were horrible. You sell crores worth of tickets and can’t even have proper maintenance of the facilities?”
No First-Aid?
A fan shared how the chaos led to a girl fainting at the venue. But despite seeing her poor condition, no one from the staff came forward to help her. “Eventually, she was taken to the FIRST AID and then to hospital, but this happened before the concert even started,” he said. The fan called is a serious lack of organisation, raising concerns for safety.
Diljit Faces Backlash
Diljit Dosanjh’s visit to Bangla sahib ahead of his concert was criticised by people, who felt that the singer received special treatment because of his celebrity status. The video shared by Team Diljit Global Instagram page showed the G.O.A.T singer entering the Gurudwara to seek blessings. Though he was very respectful, what raised eyebrows was the filming inside the holy place.
Several people took to the comment section and complaint about it. One person wrote, “If we use phone to click photos, the sevedaars snatch our phones in Bagla Sahib but Diljit paaji is a celeb so he is allowed to record video in whole Gurdwara?”. Another person write, “If rules are so strict in Gurdwara, how’s he being recorded. I too is big fan of Diljit but we had faced a lot of misbehaviour whenever we visit Bangla Sahib. Not even allowed to sit alone, capturing is another thing but I’m ok with it…but they are so strict that treat non Sikhs like anything. So rules should be rules equal to all..if capturing isn’t allowed, it should completely be not allowed.”
