Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra, who gained the spotlight after offering a movie to Maha Kumbh viral girl Mona Lisa, has reportedly been arrested in a rape case. According to India TV, the victim claimed that she met Sanoj in 2021 and he took her to a resort and raped her after feeding her intoxicants. In the FIR, he allegedly made objectionable pictures and videos of her and later threatened her to make them public.
Sanoj Mishra was reportedly arrested by Nabi Karim police on Monday after his bail was rejected by the Delhi High Court. As per India TV, the victim claimed that she met Sanoj Mishra in the year 2020 through TikTok and Instagram when she lived in Jhansi. He allegedly called her on June 17, 2021, told her that he had reached Jhansi railway station. He then threatened the victim to commit suicide when she refused to meet him and she met him due to fear.
Next day, Sanoj allegedly called her and threatened to commit suicide again. A report by India TV further alleged that he took the victim to a resort and raped her after feeding her intoxicants. He also lured her to get work in movies and reportedly called her to different places many times on the pretext of marriage and had physical relations with her.
The filmmaker is yet to officially react to these reports. He was earlier in the news after he offered a film to Monalisa, the girl who became viral during the Maha Kumbh.
He also filed a First Information Report (FIR) against five individuals, including a YouTube channel owner and accuses them of attempting to defame him and sabotage his film project. According to the police, the accused made serious allegations regarding the film’s budget and other issues. One of the men even suggested that his previous films had never been released and that he would ‘ruin’ Monalisa’s career, as per the complaint.
