Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh is currently the talk of the town due to its grand concerts being held in different cities in India. He recently performed in Pune and the concert turned into a beautiful proposal for a couple. A man went down on his knee to propose to his girlfriend on stage in front of Diljit Dosanjh and the crowd.
The man kissed his girlfriend’s hand and hugged her. Diljit Dosanjh sang a song for the lovely couple, getting a loud cheer from the audience. The man shared that he and his girlfriend have been together for 13 years.
The concert was in the news after the state excise department canceled the permit for serving liquor.
Earlier, the Telangana government issued a notice demanding Dosanjh to desist from singing songs that contain themes like alcohol, drugs, or violence, also imposing restrictions on the performance including disallowing children to be present on stage. Diljit, at his concert in Hyderabad, called out the Telangana government for their notice.
Diljit said on stage, “Koi bahar se kalakaar ayega woh jo marzi gaa k jaaye, jo marzi kare koi tension nahi hai. Lekin apna kalakaar ghar aa raha hai, usme tainu pareshani, taang adani hai. Par main bhi ek baat bata doon, Dosanjh ka rab hai, main nahi chhodunga (If an artist comes from outside the country, they can sing anything, do anything, there are no worries. But when an Indian artist sings, then you have a problem; you have to interfere. But let me tell you, there is God. I won’t let this go).”
Responding to people questioning his shows, the singer added, “Kai logo ko toh digest nahi horaha ki itne bade shows ho kyu rahe hai? Yeh ticket 2 minute mein bik kaise jaati hai. Bro, main bohut der se kaam kar raha hoon. Main ek din mein famous nahi hua (Some people aren’t able to digest why such big shows are happening. How are these tickets getting sold in two minutes? Bro, I’ve been working for a long time. I didn’t become famous in one day).”
The notice was issued by the District Welfare Officer in the Department of Welfare of Women and Children, Disabled & Senior Citizens, Rangareddy District on November 7th.
