Diljit Dosanjh records song for Rishab Shetty’s Kantara: Chapter 1, fans call it a ‘North-South legends meet’

Diljit Dosanjh has recorded a song for the highly anticipated Kantara: Chapter 1, calling director Rishab Shetty his “big brother” on social media.

Kannada star Rishab Shetty and Punjabi actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh recently thrilled fans by announcing an unexpected collaboration for the highly anticipated Kantara: Chapter 1 soundtrack. Diljit has recorded a song for the film and shared his excitement on Instagram, calling Shetty his “big brother” and praising him for creating what he described as a masterpiece.

In a video posted on social media, Diljit is seen recording the song, captioning it: “With Big Brother @rishabshettyofficial Salute to This Guy Man.. Who made The Masterpiece “KANTARA” I have a Personal Connection with This film which I can’t tell.. But I remember when I was watching in the theatres.. Rishab also shared the video on X (formerly Twitter) and wrote, “Excited to join hands with @diljitdosanjh for the Kantara album. By Shiva’s grace, everything fell into place. Much love, Paji. Another Shiva bhakt meets Kantara.”

Fans couldn’t hide their excitement in the comments section. One wrote, “This is massive!!! Diljit working on Kantara!!! Global superstar is our Diljit.” Another commented, “This is going to be a fire collab, is what I’m hearing??” A third fan added, “North-South legends meet.” Another simply wrote, “Unexpected collab.”

More About Kantara Chapter 1

A prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara, is directed by and stars Rishab Shetty. It is a period drama set during the reign of the Kadamba dynasty of Banavasi. The film also features Jayaram, Kishore, Jayasurya, and Jisshu Sengupta and is scheduled to hit the theaters on October 2, 2025.

Produced by Hombale Films, the banner behind blockbusters like KGF and Salaar, the prequel is expected to be another cinematic milestone.
