Diljit Dosanjh, renowned for his successful career in both acting and singing. He has earned acclaim in the Punjabi and Hindi film industries for his notable performances, and his singing talents have garnered global recognition.
During a recent interview with Sucharita Tyagi on her YouTube channel, Diljit disclosed that he offered his song ‘Lover’ to Karan Johar for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani without requesting any payment.
Diljit conveyed that he saw no need to demand payment for the song, considering Karan Johar’s interest in using it.
Reflecting on his conversation with the filmmaker during their interaction, Diljit remarked, ‘I don’t consider anyone as a close friend. If I’ve collaborated with someone before and they require assistance, then why hesitate?’

If a music producer friend creates a song for me, I reciprocate by singing a song for them. It’s all about what you can do for those you have a connection with. There’s no notion of giving something away for free.
“If he had paid me, how much richer would I have become? I pondered about it, which is a positive thought. However, he doesn’t lack funds, and I don’t require much either, so I told him to take it and use it.” Just to give context, in a pivotal scene in ‘Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,’ when Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh swap houses, ‘Lover’ plays in the background.
Diljit entered Bollywood with ‘Udta Punjab’ directed by Abhishek Chaubey. He was also in Rajesh A Krishnan’s ‘Crew’ with Kriti Sanon, Kareena Kapoor, and Tabu. He also portrayed the lead in the musical biopic ‘Amar Singh Chamkila,’ where he starred alongside Parineeti Chopra.
