Diljit Dosanjh Defends Female Fans After A Girl Gets Trolled For Crying At His Concert: ‘You Are Insulting’

Diljit Dosanjh defends his female fans for getting emotional during his concerts.

Diljit Dosanjh, the renowned Punjabi singer, is currently the talk of the town due to his ‘DIL-LUMINATI Tour’ concert across the world. A video from the concert recently went viral in which a girl was seen crying while seeing Diljit as he was performing. The singer recently defended all of his female fans and urged everyone not to make fun of anyone as music is an emotion.

He said in the video, “It’s ok, it’s ok to cry. Music is an emotion.” Then, he said in Punjabi, “There is smile, dance, bhangra, gidda and even crying in it. I myself have cried several times after listening to music. Only those people who have emotions can cry. I got you, don’t you worry about that. No one should stop a girl. They are independent; not only men but women earn, too. They earn and can enjoy themselves.”

He later told the crowd, “Inna da apmaan karrahe ho, tussi desh di beti da apmaan karrae ho, main tenu das diya gal (You are insulting her, you are insulting the daughter of the country, I’m telling you).”

Before his concert in Hyderabad, the Telangana government issued a notice demanding Dosanjh to desist from singing songs that contain themes like alcohol, drugs, or violence also imposing restrictions on the performance including disallowing children to be present on stage.

The notice was issued by the District Welfare Officer in the Department of Welfare of Women and Children, Disabled & Senior Citizens, Rangareddy District on November 7th. The action was taken after Chandigarh-based professor Panditrao Dharenavar lodged a complaint coupled with a video clip of Dosanjh’s performance on October 26 and 27 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi, where he allegedly performed songs with such content.
