On this occasion, Shah Rukh Khan reminisced about his connection with the legendary star during an old interview with NDTV. SRK shared fond memories of his close bond with Dilip Kumar, recalling how the Mughal-E-Azam actor and his wife, Saira Banu, embraced him as part of their family.

Shah Rukh Khan revealed that he had known Dilip Kumar since childhood, as his father had been friends with the actor. Saira Banu would often ruffle Shah Rukh’s hair, much like she did with her late husband, affectionately referring to him as the ‘son they never had’. SRK fondly remembered these interactions, saying, “My mother, when I was young, used to think I looked like Dilip sahab.” He described his admiration for Dilip Kumar’s ‘shining skin’ and ‘beautiful deep eyes’, acknowledging that only a mother would draw such comparisons.

Earlier in 2023, Saira Banu shared a heartfelt note about Shah Rukh Khan’s bond with her and Dilip Kumar. She recalled a memorable meeting where Shah Rukh humbly sought her blessings, lowering his head so she could ruffle his hair, a gesture reminiscent of Dilip Sahib. Saira Banu mentioned in her post, “Whenever Shahrukh and I met, he graciously allowed me to offer him my blessings, remembering our cherished moments with Dilip Sahib.”
