Pranan Mohanlal has returned to the big screens with his latest Malayalam film, 'Diés Iraé'. The movie has been receiving a good response from the audience for setting a new standard for Indian horror films. Malayalam cinema has been seeing a boom in theatres, with the latest hit being a superhero film titled 'Lokah Chapter 1'.

According to the website Sacnilk, Diés Iraé collected Rs 4.5 crore on day 1 as per rough data. Its opening day collection is higher than 'Lokah Chapter 1', but it is still unclear if Diés Iraé will be able to cross the earnings of Kalyani Priyadarshan's film.
