Pranan Mohanlal has returned to the big screens with his latest Malayalam film, ‘Diés Iraé’. The movie has been receiving a good response from the audience for setting a new standard for Indian horror films. Malayalam cinema has been seeing a boom in theatres, with the latest hit being a superhero film titled ‘Lokah Chapter 1’.
Diés Iraé’ Box Office Collection Day 1:
According to the website Sacnilk, Diés Iraé collected Rs 4.5 crore on day 1 as per rough data. Its opening day collection is higher than ‘Lokah Chapter 1’, but it is still unclear if Diés Iraé will be able to cross the earnings of Kalyani Priyadarshan’s film.
Apart from Pranav Mohanlal, the movie also stars Sushmita Bhat, Gibi Gopinath, Manohari Joy, Jaya Kurup ans Arun Ajikumar in the pivotal roles. The movie focuses on Rohan, whose life turns upside down when he gets convinced that a supernatural entity is in his home.
It is directed by Rahul Sadasivan, who is also the director of Bramayugam. It starred Mammootty, Arjun Ashokan and Sidharth Bharathan in the lead roles and became a huge hit as well.
He is known for directing horror and thriller movies and made his debut with ‘Red Rain’. It stars Narain, Mohan Sharma, Tini Tom, Shari, Leona Lishoy, Andrea Fortis, and Sergio Kalei.
The filmmaker further made ‘Bhoothakaalam’ in 2022, starring Revathi, Shane Nigam, abd Saiju Kurup. Meanwhile, Pranav Mohanlal was last seen in ‘L2: Empuraan’ in a cameo role.
Talking about Lokah Chapter 1, the movie also stars Naslen, Sandy Master, Arun Kurian and Chandu Salim Kumar. The movie focuses on a mysterious woman who arrives in Karnataka and gets entangled with a gang involved in organ trafficking.
