During an interview with Galatta News, Hrithik Roshan revealed that his father had made it clear to him that he needed to carve his own path in the film industry. Hrithik shared, “My father told me time and time again, ‘I’m not going to make a film for you, you’re on your own.’ So, I was doing screen tests, I did a couple of them, I was looking for work. For my photo session, I had no money. I had promised Daboo Ratnani that I will pay him once I start to earn. All of this was going on, and suddenly, I got this offer. And all I knew was that I had to satisfy my director.” Interestingly, it was revealed that even ‘Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai’ was not originally intended for Hrithik, but for another established superstar.

Rakesh Roshan initially planned to cast Shah Rukh Khan in his romantic drama, with Hrithik Roshan serving as part of the team of writers. However, circumstances changed when the film, originally designed for an established star like SRK or Aamir Khan, encountered setbacks. As the scripting process unfolded, Hrithik, along with the other writers, started feeling that the project needed a fresh face. Despite initial reservations, Hrithik convinced his father to opt for a new and emerging talent rather than a seasoned actor for the film. Eventually, Rakesh Roshan decided to cast his son in the lead role, deviating from the original plan. On the professional front, Hrithik is set to appear in the upcoming aerial action film ‘Fighter.’
