New Delhi: Dick Van Dyke was involved in a car accident in Malibu. However, TMZ reports that he did not sustain any serious injuries. During wet weather conditions, he lost control of his Lexus LS 500. His vehicle skidded and collided with a gate as a result.

It was reported to TMZ that police responded to a single-car accident on Wednesday, March 22. Upon arrival at the scene, the deputies discovered Dick behind the wheel of a Lexus LS 500 which had been crashed into a gate.

TMZ further reported, “Our sources say the 97-year-old film and TV legend told cops his car slid and he lost control before slamming into the gate. The streets were wet from the nonstop rain L.A.’s been getting.”

Following the collision, Dick Van Dyke’s mouth and nose were bleeding. He refused to travel to the hospital, so the paramedics treated him there, at the scene of the accident. According to sources, police authorities have established that this collision was not caused by drugs or alcohol.

Police have requested that Dick take a driving retest with the DMV, with one factor being his age, reports TMZ. The accident scene was picked up by someone, so he didn’t have to drive home on his own.
