The buzz around Dhurandhar is not ready to die anytime soon as it has become unstoppable at the box office even after entering the second week. This is Ranveer Singh’s first big release after Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’ and fans are not disappointed. His much awaited collaboration with Aditya Dhar has proven to be beneficial as Dhurandhar has created a storm.
Dhurandhar box office collection day 8:
According to the website Sacnilk, Dhurandhar collected Rs 32 crore on day 8 as per early estimates. The movie has earned Rs 239.25 crore in total. The movie has seen improvement in numbers from Day 7, which is an indication that the buzz around Dhurandhar will not die soon. By Day 8, Chhaava had only earned Rs 23.5 crore. Ranveer Singh-starrer is giving neck to neck fight to Chhaava to grab the position of highest box office earning of 2025.
There were lot of rumours regarding Dhurandhar’s plot being based on the life of Major Mohit Sharma. However, director Aditya Dhar has dismissed these rumours and issued an official clarification.
He wrote on X, “Hi, sir – our film Dhurandhar is not based on the life of braveheart Major Mohit Sharma AC(P) SM. This is an official clarification. I assure you, if we do make a biopic on Mohit sir in the future, we will do it with full consent and in complete consultation with the family, and in a way that truly honors his sacrifice for the nation and the legacy it has left for all of us.”
The movie is about a spy, who goes to Pakistan to remove terrorism from its roots. It also stars Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Akshaye Khanna and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles. It is directed by Aditya Dhar, best known for his incredible work in URI: The Surgical Strike.
Dhurandhar is confirmed to return with a sequel, releasing of March 19, 2026. The movie will clash with Yash’s film ‘Toxic’.
