Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar has handled the box office competition from Avatar: Fire and Ash very well and actually grew stronger in its third weekend. The spy thriller, directed by Aditya Dhar, is doing extremely well in India and continues to earn steadily overseas, putting it on track to become the biggest Indian film of 2025.

According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 22.5 crore on Friday. On Saturday (Day 16), it added another Rs 33.50 crore so far. With this, the movie’s total net collection in India has reached Rs 516.50 crore.

After a strong first two weeks, the film showed a big jump on its third Saturday, earning 50% more than it did on Friday. It collected Rs 33.50 crore net in India on Day 16, taking its total Indian earnings to Rs 516.50 crore net (Rs 619.75 crore gross). With this, Dhurandhar has become the fastest Hindi film to cross the Rs 500 crore mark in India, beating records earlier held by Jawan and Stree 2.

Internationally, the film did well in its second week, though collections dipped slightly in the third weekend because of Avatar. Even so, it has earned about $18.5 million overseas so far. Its worldwide total now stands at around Rs 785 crore in just 16 days.

At this speed, Dhurandhar is expected to cross Chhaava soon and then challenge Kantara Chapter 1 to become the highest grossing Indian film of 2025.

Dhurandhar is written, directed, and co produced by Aditya Dhar and is backed by Jio Studios and B62 Studios. The film stars Ranveer Singh along with Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.

The story centres on Hamza Ali Mazari, who is later revealed to be Jaskirat Singh Rangi, an undercover agent sent to Lyari in Pakistan to break into a Baloch gang led by Rehman Dakait, played by Akshaye Khanna. After the film’s big success, the makers have already announced a sequel, which is set to release in theatres on March 19, 2026.
