Dhurandhar has finally hit theatres after creating massive buzz before release. The teaser created strong buzz, and the trailer made fans even more excited. Advance bookings started well, slowed down in between, and then improved again just before release. The release day also followed the same pattern the morning was slow, but collections jumped later in the day.
The spy thriller has now surpassed all of Ranveer Singh’s previous opening day records. Here’s how much it collected on day one.
Dhurandhar box office collection day 1:
Dhurandhar released on December 5 across 5000 screens in India. Even though advance booking was just a little over Rs 9 crore, the film needed more people to walk into theatres for a strong start. The morning shows were slow with only 16% seats filled, but things changed once good reviews started coming in. As positive reactions spread online, more people began going to theatres, and the afternoon occupancy jumped to 28%, giving the film a strong push.
According to Sacnilk, Dhurandhar collected an impressive Rs 27 crore net on day one far exceeding trade expectations of Rs 15-18 crore. This makes it Ranveer Singh’s biggest opening to date, surpassing 83 (Rs 12.64 crore), Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (Rs 11.10 crore), and Simmba (Rs 20.72 crore).
It also outperforms 2025 releases like Saiyaara (Rs 21.50 crore) and Sikandar (Rs 26 crore), though it falls short of Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava (Rs 31 crore), which remains the year’s highest opener so far.
