Dhurandhar has finally been released in theatres after creating massive hype ever since its announcement. The movie is set to open strongly, but it is not clear if it will be able to surpass the collection of hits like Saiyaara or Chhaava. Check the first-day collection of Ranveer Singh-starrer.
Dhurandhar box office collection day 1:
According to the website Sacnilk, Dhurandhar collected Rs 13.67 crore on its opening day as per early estimates. The final numbers are yet to be revealed.
The movie might open to Rs 18-20 crore but might face difficulty in surpassing the opening day collection of Saiyaara and Chhaava. For the unversed, Saiyaara collected Rs 21.50 crore, and Chhaava earned Rs 31 crore on day 1.

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar will return with a sequel. It will release in theatres on March 19, 2026, coinciding with Eid 2026. The movie will also clash with Kannada star Yash’s next film, ‘Toxic’. It will be one of the biggest box office clashes of 2026.
Earlier, the movie made it to headlines regarding its plot as it was rumoured that the movie is based on Major Mohit Sharma. However, director Aditya Dhar has dismissed these rumours and issued an official clarification.
He wrote on X, “Hi, sir – our film Dhurandhar is not based on the life of braveheart Major Mohit Sharma AC(P) SM. This is an official clarification. I assure you, if we do make a biopic on Mohit sir in the future, we will do it with full consent and in complete consultation with the family, and in a way that truly honors his sacrifice for the nation and the legacy it has left for all of us.”
Meanwhile, the movie also stars Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Akshaye Khanna and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles. It is directed by Aditya Dhar, best known for his incredible work in URI: The Surgical Strike.
