‘Dhurandhar’, starring Ranveer Singh, has finally arrived in theatres after creating massive buzz ever since its announcement. The movie has shown Ranveer in a never-before-seen avatar and features a talented ensemble cast. There is more exciting news for fans as Ranveer will return with ‘Dhurandhar 2’.
At the end of the film, the makers announced ‘Dhurandhar 2’ and its release date. The sequel will release in theatres on March 19, 2026, coinciding with Eid 2026. It will clash with Kannada star Yash’s next film, ‘Toxic’. It will be one of the biggest box office clash of 2026.

Earlier, the movie made it to headlines regarding its plot as it was rumoured that the movie is based on Major Mohit Sharma. However, director Aditya Dhar has dismissed these rumours and issued an official clarification.
He wrote on X, “Hi, sir – our film Dhurandhar is not based on the life of braveheart Major Mohit Sharma AC(P) SM. This is an official clarification. I assure you, if we do make a biopic on Mohit sir in the future, we will do it with full consent and in complete consultation with the family, and in a way that truly honors his sacrifice for the nation and the legacy it has left for all of us.”
Meanwhile, the movie also stars Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sara Arjun, Akshaye Khanna and Sanjay Dutt in the lead roles. It is directed by Aditya Dhar, best known for his incredible work in URI: The Surgical Strike.
Dhurandhar is Ranveer’s first big release after Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, released in 2023. He was last seen in a cameo role in Singham Again and reprised his role of ACP Sangram “Simmba” Bhalerao.
