At Dharmendra's prayer meet heled in New Delhi, Hema Malini revealed, her late husband's dream remain unfulfilled.

On Thursday, December 11, actress and politician Hema Malini organised a prayer meeting for her late husband and veteran actor Dharmendra in New Delhi. Several prominent figures from the entertainment and political worlds paid tribute to the legendary actor at the event, including Home Minister Amit Shah, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and actress-turned-politician Kangana Ranaut.

Esha Deol also attended the prayer meeting with her sister Ahana. During the meeting, Hema Malini revealed that one of Dharmendra’s dreams remains unfulfilled.

This dream of Dharmendra remained unfulfilled

Hema Malini spoke about her husband with teary eyes at the prayer meeting organised in memory of Hindi cinema’s He-Man, Dharmendra. In this prayer meeting held in Delhi, she told Dharmendra that in the last days of his life, Dharmendra had started writing poetry in Urdu, and this had become his new passion.

Seeing this passion of Dharmendra, she had advised her husband to publish his poetry in the form of a book, but before his dream could be fulfilled, he said goodbye to the world. In the prayer meeting, Hema said, ‘This was Dharmendra’s unfinished work, which was his dream.’

Amit Shah paid tribute to Dharmendra

Union Home Minister Amit Shah remembered late actor Dharmendra by attending his prayer meeting in New Delhi on Thursday. During the event, Amit Shah also delivered a speech in which he said that even though he never met the legendary actor, he will always remember his contribution to Indian cinema. Amit Shah called Dharmendra’s death a “huge loss” and offered his condolences to the family.

Dharmendra preferred comedy roles over romantic or action roles

Talking about Dharmendra’s career, Hema further said, “Dharmendra ji acted in over 300 films in his career and played a variety of roles, including romantic, action hero, and serious roles. But he loved comedy the most. He was very passionate about films; he loved being in front of the camera.”

Hema further said, “He would have turned 90 on December 8th. We celebrated his birthday, and so did the entire country. People were very emotional. Even today, people come up to me and talk about him. It is very difficult for anyone to receive the respect and love that Dharam ji received. Sometimes I think about how great and extraordinary his life was.”
