Salman Khan lit up the Dabangg Tour stage in Qatar, where several moments with Jacqueline Fernandez and Tamannaah Bhatia went viral. But the clip that truly stood out was a heartfelt exchange in which Salman revealed the person who inspired his legendary fitness journey. He immediately names Dharmendra.
In the now viral video, Salman refers to Dharmendra as his biggest fitness influence, saying, “Mere aane se pehle ek hi shakhs the, aur woh hain Dharam ji,” (Before I came along, there was only one person, and that is Dharam ji). Salman goes on to say that Dharmendra has always been like a father to him: “He is like my father, that’s the end. I love that man, and I just hope that he will come back,” Salman adds.

Salman and Dharmendra share a bond much deeper than just being co-stars. Dharmendra has often expressed fatherly affection for Salman, even calling him his “third son.” In a popular Bigg Boss moment, Dharmendra appeared with Bobby Deol and told Salman, “Waise main toh kahunga, yeh mera beta hai. Mere teen bete hain—teeno jazbaati hain, khuddar hain, transparent hain,” (I would say he’s my son. I have three sons— all of them are emotional, self-respecting, and transparent).” He then adds with a playful smile, “Par yeh mujh par thoda zyada gaya hai,” (But this one is a little more like me).
Meanwhile, Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital after he was admitted due to serious health concerns. He became the victim of a death hoax, for which his wife, Hema Malini and his daughter, Esha Deol, slammed the media for spreading false information. He was discharged from the hospital on November 12.
Just days before the Dabangg Tour event, Salman Khan was spotted visiting Dharmendra at Breach Candy Hospital. Shah Rukh Khan, Govinda, and Ameesha Patel were also seen stopping by to check on the veteran actor.
