Veteran actor Dharmendra passed away at 89 on Monday, leaving the entertainment world in shock. Fondly remembered as Bollywood’s He-Man, he remains one of Hindi cinema’s most iconic and celebrated stars.
Earlier in the day, the makers of his upcoming film Ikkis had unveiled his first look poster. The film features Agastya Nanda in the lead, with Dharmendra portraying his on screen father. The announcement featured a poster of the 89-year-old, calling him a “timeless legend”.
Maddock Films shared the poster on social media. “Fathers raise sons. Legends raise nations. Dharmendra ji, an emotional powerhouse as the father of a 21-year-old immortal soldier. One timeless legend brings us the story of another. #IkkisTrailerOutNow – ‘Ikkis’ in cinemas worldwide on 25th December 2025,” read the caption.

Dharmendra plays M. L. Khetarpal in Sriram Raghavan’s film, while Agastya Nanda stars as Arun Khetarpal, the youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee. The poster also includes Dharmendra’s voice, where he speaks about his ‘bada beta,’ who will always remain 21.
His look in the poster left fans emotional. Many fans shared heartfelt tributes in the comments, with one writing, “Rest in peace Dharmendra ji. Your legacy, your warmth, and your timeless charm will live forever in our hearts. Thank you for the unforgettable memories and magic you gave to Indian cinema.”

He had been unwell for several days and was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. On Monday, several leading Bollywood figures including Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumarn Hema Malini, and Esha Deol were seen arriving at the Pawan Hans cremation ground in Juhu to pay their respects. Salman Khan and Aamir Khan were also spotted at the Vile Parle Crematorium in Mumbai.
