Dhanush Joins Hands With Filmmaker Aanand Rai To Battle AI Intervention

Dhanush and director Aanand L. Rai have united to oppose the AI-generated alteration of Raanjhanaa’s ending. They are exploring legal action to preserve the original vision of their film.

A new twist to the plot, very different from what Aanand Rai shot with Dhanush in their collaborative film Raanjhana twelve years ago, has angered all fans of the director, actor and the film.

The producers of Eros International have given Raanjhana a new “happy” ending through artificial intelligence.

While Aanand Rai spoke against the desecration earlier, Dhanush has now come out against it.

Aanand confirms that Dhanush and he are “brothers from different mothers” exploring various legal possibilities to combat what Aanand calls, “a very dangerous precedent”.

“I am very worried about my other films. So is Dhanush. We are looking at judicial remedies for restoring and preserving our content from such extraneous intervention,” says Aanand.

Besides Raanjhana, Aanand and Dhanush have collaborated on Atrangi Re. And they are now looking at a third collaboration.

“We are first going to tackle the current crisis before moving ahead together,” says Aanand Rai.
