New Delhi: Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth shocked the internet when they announced their split in January of this year. Dhanush married Aishwaryaa, the eldest daughter of South megastar Rajinikanth, in 2004. The two have two sons — Yatra Raja and Linga Raja — together.

Despite the fact that the two did not reveal the cause for their split, there were rumours that Dhanush and Aishwarya’s families had been trying to “convince them to stay together.”

According to various unsubstantiated media sources, Dhanush and Aishwarya have “agreed to put their divorce on wait and attempt to make things work.” Several media rumours indicating that Dhanush and Aishwarya are trying to mend their marriage surfaced on the internet on Wednesday morning.

Dhanush and Aishwarya Rajinikanth on January 18 shared a statement that read, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been of growth, understanding, adjusting, and adapting… Today we stand at a place where our paths separate… Aishwaryaa and I have decided to part ways as a couple and take time to understand us as individuals for the better. Please do Respect our decision and give us the needed privacy to deal with this.”

Meanwhile, on the film front, the actor will be seen bilingual drama Vaathi which is set to release on 2nd December this year. The versatile star will play a teacher in the movie which is helmed by director Venky Atluri.
