Actor Dhanush and Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya officially got divorced on November 27 at the Chennai family court. Though Dhanush announced their separation in 2022, the court granted them time to work on reconciliation. However, despite all efforts, the former couple clearly found that resolving issues was not possible. Dhanush and Aishwarya were married for 18 years, not 20, and are parents to two children, Yatra and Linga.
Announcing their separation on January 17, 2022, Dhanush as well as Aishwarya shared a statement, which read, “18 years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and well-wishers to each other. The journey has been one of growth, understanding, adjustment, and adaptation. Today, we stand at a place where our paths separate.”
Keeping their differences, Dhanush and Aishwarya tries to remain cordial for the sake of their children. They live nearby in Chennai’s Poes Garden, which allows them to co-parent Yatra and Linga, without much hassle. The two are often seen sharing good memories with the kids on social media.
Reason For Their Divorce?
Meanwhile, an old video of popular playback singer and composer Suchitra Ramadurai has resurfaced, in which she talked about the troubled relationship of Dhanush and Aishwarya. She revealed that both Dhanush and Aishwarya used to cheat on each other while they were married, and would go on dates with other people.
“Aishwaryaa is accusing Dhanush of cheating on her but that is what she has also done throughout the marriage. That is double standards, no? Aishwaryaa has cheated on Dhanush, and Dhanush has cheated on Aishwaryaa. They’ve been a couple who have been systematically cheating on each other. They have had small flings. They have sat at the bar and had drinks with the person they are dating,” said the singer.
When the host said that going on dates is a normal thing, Suchitra questioned, “When you’re in a marriage, will you go on a date?”
Keeping her personal issues with Dhanush aside in the matter, Surchitra further said that she does not like Dhanush but thinks that he is a better parent than Aishwarya. “I am not taking his side but between the devil and the deep sea, I would say devil is better,” she added. Suchitra also mentioned about how the children should stay with their grandparents as it would be better for their future.
