Reflecting on her return, Shefali Shah said, “Stepping back into the shoes of Madam Sir feels profoundly personal. Her importance, both to me and in the context of today’s world, has only intensified. Vartika is up against an adversary that transcends borders and lurks in the shadows of daily life. Human trafficking is not merely the act of a few; it’s a reflection of a society that chooses to ignore it. Yet, Vartika remains steadfast in her fight, even if it means rescuing just one individual from this dark reality.”

Huma Qureshi, who joined the series as Meena, aka Badi Didi, remarked, “Portraying a villainous character like Meena was both a powerful and disconcerting experience. She is shaped by her trauma, yet exerts significant control; she embodies both victim and aggressor. This complexity is what attracted me to Delhi Crime: its authenticity. It does not glamorise or sensationalise; instead, it compels us to face uncomfortable realities that often remain hidden in plain sight.”

The series also won the International Emmy Awards in the Best Drama series category.
