About the baby Falak case

The baby Falak case came to light in 2012, triggering widespread outrage across India. The horror unfolded when a 15 year old girl who claimed to be her mother brought a severely injured two year old to the trauma centre at AIIMS, Delhi.

Doctors discovered the child had suffered a fractured skull, blood clots in the brain, broken arms, bite marks, and burn injuries on her face. Despite intensive treatment, the toddler’s condition deteriorated, and the case soon revealed a web of exploitation and abuse.

As the investigation unfolded, police learned that the teenager who had brought Falak to the hospital was not her biological mother. They later discovered that Falak’s biological mother had been trapped in a human trafficking racket, revealing a shocking network of abuse and exploitation.

Over the course of the treatment, cops realised that the young girl is not the mother… (sic)”
