Deepika Padukone And Amitabh Bachchan Announce ‘Piku’ Re-Release On Its 10th Anniversary; Actress Misses Irrfan

Piku was released in theatres on May 8, 2015. The movie won Filmfare Awards in the Best Film, Best Actor and Best Actress category.

Piku, starring Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Irrfan Khan in the lead roles, will soon complete the 10 years of its release. On the 10th anniversary of Piku, the makers have decided to release it in theatres once again for the audience to relive the iconic film. This also marks another old movie arriving on big screens amid the re-release trend.

While announcing the re-release of Piku, Deepika Padukone also remembered Irrfan Khan, who passed away on April 29, 2020. Announcing the news, she wrote, “A film that will always have my heart – PIKU is back in theatres on 9th May, 2025 to celebrate its 10th Anniversary! Irrfan, we miss you! And think about you every so often…”

The movie also stars Moushumi Chatterjee, Jisshu Sengupta and Raghubir Yadav in supporting roles. It is directed by Shoojit Sircar and its script is written by Juhi Chaturvedi.

Piku won several accolades at the time of its release and also became a box office success. It won Filmfare Awards in the Best Film, Best Actor and Best Actress category.
