The trailer for De De Pyaar De 2, directed by Anshul Sharma, was released on Tuesday, reviving the comedy drama franchise that began with Akiv Ali’s 2019 hit. Starring Ajay Devgn, Rakul Preet Singh, Gautami Kapoor, R. Madhavan, and Meezaan Jafri, the sequel picks up from where the first film left off.
In the trailer, Rakul’s character Ayesha tells her parents, played by R Madhavan and Gautami, that her boyfriend Ashish (Ajay Devgn) is older and divorced. Her parents seem okay at first but aren’t happy about a younger guy, Meezaan, as a potential son-in-law.
The trailer also shows some of Ajay’s famous scenes from Phool Aur Kaante and Singham, ending with him telling his friend Jaaved Jaaferi that no one will easily win Ayesha’s heart, while Lata Mangeshkar’s “Buddha Mil Gaya” plays in the background.
