Ajay Devgn has returned to the big screen with the movie ‘De De Pyaar De 2’, which is a sequel to his 2019 romantic comedy film. The movie focuses on a man in his 50s who falls in love with a young woman in her 20s. Its sequel generated excitement especially with R. Madhavan joining the cast alongside Rakul Preet Singh. De De Pyaar De 2 continued its steady run at the box office through its opening weekend, collecting Rs 8.75 crore on Friday. The film saw a strong jump on Day 2 (Saturday) with Rs 12.25 crore, followed by an even better Day 3 (Sunday) at Rs 13.75 crore. However, like most releases, the numbers dipped on Day 4 (Monday), bringing in Rs 4.25 crore. Early estimates for Day 5 (Tuesday) stand at around Rs 5 crore. With this, the film’s total collection has reached Rs 44 crore.

The plot follows 52 year old Ashish, who meets his much younger girlfriend Ayesha’s family to get their approval. Her father, Rajji, and Ashish, who is nearly the same age, clash in awkward and funny situations. When her parents try to accept their relationship, tensions rise because of the age gap. To break them up, they bring in a younger man, played by Meezaan Jafri, to win Ayesha over.
