Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur’s much awaited action drama Dacoit finally has a release date. Initially slated for a December 2025 release, the film was postponed to 2026 following Sesh’s injury. Now, the makers have locked a festive release in theatres and dropped a brand new poster featuring the lead pair.
Sharing the announcement on Instagram, Mrunal Thakur wrote, ”EXperience EXplosive drama with #DACOIT. GRAND RELEASE WORLDWIDE ON MARCH 19th, 2026 in Hindi & Telugu”
Dacoit will hit theatres worldwide on March 19, 2026, just a day before the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s period romance Love & War, starring Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, and Vicky Kaushal.

About Dacoit
Dacoit is an action packed drama starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, with Anurag Kashyap playing an important role. The film marks the directorial debut of Shaneil Deo and is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda, with Suniel Narang as co-producer, under Annapurna Studios.
In a previous conversation with Zoom, Adivi Sesh praised his co-star, saying, “I think she’s extraordinary. She’s such a delight. I think she’s shooting in Scotland or in London – somewhere in the UK, and she’s still sort of staying up all through the night making sure she’s doing her part to take Dacoit to the masses. It means a lot to me that she’s so emotionally invested.”
Talking about Dacoit’s tone and mood, the actor shared that it is “very muscular’. He stated, “I think that comes from our hearts. Every line has been discussed, each dialogue has been acted out with each other. I think it’s Shaneil’s vision that’s really sort of made it very contemporary.” He signed off, saying, “It’s a very American look at a very Indian story.”
The film, shot in both Hindi and Telugu, is written by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo and is currently in post-production, gearing up for a grand release this March.
