CTRL Trailer: Ananya Panday is all set to return with another Netflix movie ‘CTRL’, which will focus on the dark side of social media and AI. The movie revolves around a couple Nella and Joe, who make content on social media. Things take a turn when Joe cheats and Nella asks an AI to erase him. Ananya will reunite with her ‘Call Me Bae’ co-star Vihaan Samat for ‘CTRL’.
Sharing the trailer, Netflix wrote, “CTRL your life. ALT your memories. DEL the baggage. CTRL is out on October 4, only on Netflix.”
CTRL Release Date:
‘CTRL’ will release on Netflix on October 4.
Ananya, in her official statement, emphasized that the movie will make the audience rethink their dependency on technology. She said, “CTRL is engaging, impactful and definitely makes you wonder if you are truly in control of your life. I truly believe that this film is for everyone, given the exponential advancement in tech and our rising dependency on it. What better platform to reach the audience with a narrative as compelling as CTRL than Netflix?”
Director Vikramaditya Motwane shared that ‘CTRL’ is about exploring how less people are currently in control of their life in today’s digital age. He added, “With the amount of time we spend on our devices, screen time is now redefined as screen life! The question is, are we actually in control of all the digital extensions of our life, or are we being controlled? That’s the answer CTRL tries to explore. For a concept as new-age as this, we not only needed a cast who lives such a life, but a medium like Netflix that’s relevant.”
On the work front, Ananya was recently seen in the web series ‘Call Me Bae’, which has also been renewed for its second season. Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra and Mini Mathur were seen in pivotal roles.
‘CTRL’ is Ananya’s second project with Netflix as she starred in the movie ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’, which also focused on the dark side of social media and its impact on its users.
Vihaan has also worked with Netflix for two other projects ‘Mismatched’ and ‘Eternally Confused And Eager For Love’. Meanwhile, filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane last directed the critically acclaimed web series ‘Jubliee’, streaming on Prime Video.
