Netflix informed the Bombay High Court last week that it had agreed not to release the series until February 29. Prior to this, the CBI had gone to a special court in Mumbai to request a halt on the documentary series. However, on February 20, the court dismissed the plea made by the investigative agency.

The creators of the documentary series have not disclosed the new release date yet. Originally, the series was planned to premiere on Netflix on February 23.

The CBI subsequently approached the Bombay High Court in an attempt to stop the release of the series.

During a prior hearing on February 22, a division bench comprising Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Manjusha Deshpande instructed the creators of the series to organize a special screening for the CBI, as per media reports.

Netflix’s Senior Counsel, Ravi Kadam, informed the court that the series features interviews with five witnesses, including Mikhail (Sheena’s brother) and Vidhie Mukerjea, who is Indrani’s daughter with Peter Mukerjea. Kadam mentioned that the trial court is yet to record statements from three out of the five witnesses featured in the series.
