Actor Prateik, who was lastly in headlines for dropping his father’s surname and officially adopting to his mother’s surname for life. Now, the actor has been lately getting interviewed and spotted. So, in a candid conversation with Zoom, actor Prateik has made a surprising revelation that he could be the Step brother to renowned actor, Farhan Akhtar.
Prateik explained that he recently got to know that Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar wanted to adopt him, after the passing of his mother. He said: “I recently found out that Shabana Azmi ji and Javed Akhtar saab wanted to adopt me after my mother’s death. It was kind of complicated. I could have been Farhan Akhtar’s stepbrother (laughs). It is quite fascinating. I always find out new things about me.”
Custody Battle And Protective Colleagues
Prateik also revealed that after Smita Patil’s death, there was a custody battle for him. He mentioned that many of his mother’s colleagues and industry friends including Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Amitabh Bachchan and others were extremely protective of him and took care of him like their own child. The actor admitted feeling overwhelmed by the love and care he received from these industry legends.
