Apart from catching everyone's attention with its stellar cast, 'Coolie' also made it to the headlines due to its 'A' certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The A certification has been given to the film due to its violent scenes, and this came as a surprise for the audience, as Lokesh's earlier movies 'Leo' and 'Vikram' got the 'U/A' certificate.
Earlier, while speaking to Galatta Plus, Lokesh talked about why he does not want to make 'Coolie' into a PG-13 film. He said, "It is going to trigger all the emotions that a family audience would want. At the same time, I don't want to lose my grip on the film. I don't want to do a PG-13 film. I have not avoided guns and drugs in the film, the godowns… It will have a lot of adrenaline rush, which we have not seen in Rajini sir's films in a while.”
'Coolie' also stars Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Rachita Ram, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, Kanna Ravi, Monisha Blessy and Kaali Venkat. Aamir Khan will be seen in a cameo role. It is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures.
On the work front, Rajinikanth was last seen in 'Vettaiyan' alongside Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Abhirami and Ramesh Thilak.
He will next star in 'Jailer 2' with SJ Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and Mirnaa Menon.
