Superstar Rajinikanth is back in the theatres with his latest action film ‘Coolie’, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The movie has created massive buzz among the audience ever since its announcement, as Rajinikanth will be seen in a completely different role. Within a few days of its release, ‘Coolie’ became a blockbuster and smashed multiple records. There has been a lot of speculation regarding the OTT release of ‘Coolie’ amid its grand success.
Coolie OTT Platform Update:
According to reports, ‘Coolie’ will release on Prime Video after its theatrical run. Its official OTT release date has not been announced yet. However, the movie is expected to arrive online in October or November 2025, as the movies usually have a 45 to 60-day OTT window.

‘Coolie’ also stars Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Rachita Ram, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, Kanna Ravi, Monisha Blessy and Kaali Venkat. Aamir Khan was seen in a cameo role. It is produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures.
The movie also grabbed the attention after it received an ‘A’ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The A certification has been given to the film due to its violent scenes, and this came as a surprise for the audience, as Lokesh’s earlier movies ‘Leo’ and ‘Vikram’ got the ‘U/A’ certificate.
The movie focuses on Deva, who is a former gold smuggler but is now working as a coolie. He seeks to regain his past glory by reviving his old gang with stolen technology hidden in vintage golden watches, leading to unintended consequences.
