Actor Amit Sadh recently found himself at the centre of a viral Instagram discussion after a chance encounter with street photography content creators at Khan Market, Delhi. The creators behind @therealstreets_ approached the actor for portraits, only to admit they couldn’t immediately recall his name.
During the interaction, Amit, quipped: “Are you paying in bitcoins?” before jokingly adding, “I am an actor and I don’t work for free.” Eventually, he obliged the photographers, asking, “What do you want?” A woman replied, “Just two or three pictures… humein laga hi tha aap koi actor ho, but yaad nahi aa raha tha kahan dekha hai.” Soon after, a bystander called out his name, and the reel ended with Amit’s portraits.

The video has gained over 1.4 million views, 58k likes, and 1.5k comments, sparking debate in the comments section. Many users criticised the creators for telling a known actor to his face that they couldn’t remember him. “Never say that I don’t remember your name. It’s disrespectful. Use such opportunities,” one user wrote. Others praised Amit for handling the situation with humour and grace. “The way he handled the situation is commendable. I relate with the feeling of people looking at you & not being able to pinpoint where exactly do they know you from,” another noted.

Amit has been in the film industry for over 20 years and is known for his powerful and versatile acting. He started with Janasheen (2003) and became well-known after Kai Po Che! (2013). Since then, he has acted in many popular films like Sultan (2016), Sarkar 3 (2017), and Raag Desh (2017).
He has worked in different types of movies including biopics, dramas, and sports films such as Gold (2018), Super 30 (2019), Shakuntala Devi (2020), and Sukhee (2023). His recent work includes Pune Highway (2025).
