New Delhi: Comedian Raju Srivastava hospitalized after suffering a heart attack on Tuesday. He was immediately taken to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital in New Delhi.
However, as informed by his team, Raju is doing better now and confirmed his condition. His team told News18 Showsha that the comedian suffered a stroke while doing his work out. His team said, “He was working out on the treadmill around 11-11:30 when he had the stroke. He is stable now. There is nothing to worry as of now. Doctors are conducting tests, we’ll share more information soon.”
As per reports, Raju Srivastava was in the capital to meet his friends and family. He has been in the city for a week now.
Raju Srivastava began his career with cameos in Bollywood films including Maine Pyar Kiya, Baazigar, Bombay to Goa, Aamdani Atthanni Kharcha Rupaiya among others.
Then he was seen in the talent show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge and finished as second runner-up. Taking part in the spin-off, The Great Indian Laughter Challenge – Champions, he won the title of “The King of Comedy”.
Srivastav also participated in reality TV shows including Bigg Boss season 3, comedy show Comedy Ka Maha Muqabala, Nach Baliye season 6 and Comedy Nights with Kapil.
Meanwhile, speaking with The Indian Express, the comedian once revealed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi enjoys his mimicry. “He told me, ‘If you wish to, you should mimic me, just take care that the crowd should be entertained.’ He believes mimicry is an art. Modi ji in fact said that there should not be in any discrimination, that powerful people are not poked fun at, and only rest of the sections are the subject of one’s humour,” he was quoted saying.
